In August 1985 Andrea Pazienza was Vincenzo Mollica’s guest in Ascona, on the occasion of the Locarno International Film Festival, held every summer in the Swiss town.
The 1985 edition was the 38th edition of the Festival and the second of the «Cinema e fumetto» exhibition.
The exhibition, housed in the “Beato Pietro Berno” Cultural Center, was devoted to Marlene Dietrich and Betty Boop, with drawn tributes displayed in the center’s rooms. Dresden (Dresden) is Andrea’s contribution, depicting Marlene Dietrich.
As a tribute to his friend, the journalist Vincenzo Mollica, Andrea also produced, in a live performance, a large painting depicting Zanardi next to a small Betty Boop, a figure much loved by Mollica, the creator of “Boopism”.
Present at the event was Paolo Barcucci, co-publisher of Editori Del Grifo, who documented the performance in a series of photographs.
